What happens to your old Henry?
When we get an old Henry for recycling, we first strip it down to its component parts. We then select anything we think can be re-used on other machines. Those parts are then cleaned and put away in our stores. Those parts will then be re-used building refurbished Vacuum cleaners or sold on as part of other parts orders. Bits of your old Henry could end up in Ingatestone, Iceland, Italy, India or Israel.
We use everything we possibly can, even down to fuses in plugs and old springs and clips (Steptoe had nothing on us!). Blown motors and cables get recycled for scrap metal. We are also able to recycle much of the ABS plastic we get now. Almost nothing from your old Henry goes to waste. We even re-use all the packaging that machines arrive to us packed in.
We think it’s pretty amazing that thanks to the power of the internet, bits from your old unwanted Henry Hoover could be keeping other Henry Hoovers alive all over the world for many years to come. Now that’s green!
Over our lifetime each one of us throws away over three tonnes of old electrical products. To preserve our environment, we need to look at ways of becoming more sustainable. Recycling your old Henry with us is green; it reduces the amount of end-of-life electrical appliances going into landfill.
