What happens to your old Vacuum cleaner product?
When we get an old Vacuum cleaner product for recycling, we first strip it down to its component parts. We then select anything we think can be re-used on other machines. Those parts are then cleaned and put away in our stores. Those parts will then be re-used building refurbished Vacuum cleaners or sold on as part of other parts orders. Bits of your old Vacuum cleaner could end up in Ingatestone, Iceland, Italy, India or Israel.
We use everything we possibly can, even down to fuses in plugs and old springs and clips (Steptoe had nothing on us!). Blown motors and cables get recycled for scrap metal. We are also able to recycle much of the ABS plastic we get now. Almost nothing from your old machine goes to waste. We even re-use all the packaging that machines arrive to us packed in.
We think its pretty amazing that thanks to the power of the internet, bits from your old unwanted Dyson / henry Hoover / Sebo / G-tech could be keeping other Vacuum cleaners alive all over the world for many years to come. Now that’s green!
Over our lifetime each one of us throws away over three tonnes of old electrical products. To preserve our environment we need to look at ways of becoming more sustainable. Recycling your old Vacuum with us is green; it reduces the amount of end-of-life electrical appliances going into landfill.
